Whether it is your first baby or your third, many parents are frequently concerned about how to properly take care of your baby’s newborn skin. Your new baby may seem extremely delicate to you and you might find yourself constantly worrying if you are doing the right things. If you ever have questions regarding how you are caring for your child never hesitate to call your pediatrician’s office and speak with a doctor or nurse. This can frequently alleviate many of the concerns you might have.
When taking care of your baby’s skin it is important to realize that it is much more sensitive than our skin is. That means many of the products that we use will be too harsh for your baby. That is why special baby skin care products were designed. These are safe enough for your baby’s skin and will effectively keep your baby clean.
Different Types Of Baby Skin Care
One of the most common types of baby skin care is soap. While most times plain water is effective enough to clean your baby a very gentle soap can be used as well. Make sure the soap is not antibacterial. Instead look for something that has coconut oil as one of the ingredients. Try to use as little as possible of the soap because it can really dry out your baby’s skin. After bathing your baby you will want to make sure to apply a lotion that will replenish the moisture in your baby’s skin.
Lotions and even some oils can be used to resolve numerous rashes and skin irritations that your baby might be suffering from. If you decide to use any type of lotion or oil you will want to make sure they are free of things like mineral oils which could just agitate the skin further. To find the best baby skin care products look for ones that do not contain fragrance and artificial coloring. Aloe is a great choice for a soothing and natural way to moisturize your baby’s skin.
Many parents love to give their babies a fun bubble bath now and again. Use extra caution when choosing the bubble bath you want to use as many can have unfortunate side effects. In fact, most doctors do not even recommend bubble baths. It has been discovered that bubble baths can lead to things like urinary tract infections in young children. Some of the ingredients in the bubble bath are too harsh for your baby’s skin and can cause irritations as well.
