Natural herbal skin care products are now making a grand come back, but commercial herbal products are not completely trustworthy yet. Many a times, they are not herbal at all and they are made to appear herbal just by adding some essential oils to them. Real natural herbal skin care products are available in specialty stores but can be quite expensive.

Natural Herbal Skin Care Recipes

It is easy to make your own natural herbal skin care products at home. Facial clay can be very good for your skin if you choose the right type. One great natural herbal skin care recipe is to pulverize lavender, rose petals and oats in the food processor. Mix cornmeal, sea salt and facial clay and mix them with the paste. Keep it in the airtight jar. While using, take a spoonful in your palm and add a drop of essential oil of your choice. Mix the paste with aloe vera juice or rose water and gently scrub your skin with your fingertips. Leave for 10 minutes and rinse with warm water.

One of the best known natural herbal skin care product is aloe vera. It is easy to grow and freshly extracted aloe vera is natural hydrant with great healing and soothing properties. You just need to smooth it on to feel absolutely refreshed.

Consuming herbs internally can also help nourish your skin. Dandelion root, burdock root, milk thistle and yellow dock root are great for the liver and will help improve your skin. Drinking green tea can also do wonders for your overall skin health.

Hydrosols and witch hazel are quite effective and cheap as toners. They are easily available at drug stores or you can also make your own just by steeping the plants in hot water overnight and straining. Lavender, cucumber, chamomile, rosemary, and rose are good hydrosols.

Green tea is a great toner as well. If you have a tanned body, green tea can be especially beneficial. You just need to brew it strong and allow it to cool. Unboiled milk is a great skin cleanser and you just need to wipe your face with the cotton wool dipped in this milk.

Another natural herbal skin care and acne skin care recipe is to mix yogurt, lemon juice and orange juice. Apply it on your face and wash after 10 minutes. Say no to chemicals and use products that use pure and natural ingredients.
